In Recursive Landscapes, I quote Sol Lewitt’s systematic investigation on the modular cube structures by photographing, printing and re-photographing early American landscape photographs. Using a simple vocabulary of re-photographing these images from four basic perspectives, I impose a post-modern structural system onto these romantic historic landscape images. The resulting images are all permutations and variations on this system.
